I know what you’re thinking, and I assure you that I won’t mention anything about ‘goals’ and the world cup here. Let’s move on.
On Saturday 21st July this week, you are invited to join in at our weekly SoulRise event, hosted by expert practitioners of Bhakti Yoga. We kick it off by practising some mantra meditation together. We will be happy to teach you an age-old method that works wonders…that is, should you wish to make peace with the crazy thing we call the mind. (But maybe that’s just me.)
Then we’ll be hearing from our speaker, Shivananda, all about setting life goals. You may ask, why bother setting life goals? It’s a great question in fact. After all, if the world is whimsical, then by golly I’ll just let the wind of chance blow my sail and direct my boat wherever and whenever. In fact, I’ll learn to enjoy the unpredictability and irrationality of life. I’m sure you can see the obvious question that arises here – is everything in my life based on chance? We’ll be using the Bhagavad Gita text as a source for conversation on this point.
Our aim is to strike up discussion and help one another to grow as individuals. Our sessions are both philosophical and practical in nature. After all, as a wise man once said, practice without philosophy is sentiment, while philosophy without practice is mere speculation.
Lastly, this is a free event, and we only ask that you RSVP in advance for catering purposes. (Please note, when I say free, I don’t mean cheap! This is the good stuff.)
With best wishes,
On behalf of the Krishna West London team
